So the kid left. We finally got it all packed last Saturday, the 20th and started driving to Berkeley. We had lunch at Harris Ranch and got to Berkeley. Unloading all of his stuff while KR took Gracie for a walk. There were the homeless being fed at People's Park. Martinez complex being right in front of people park. THEN he went, "I really don't want to go with you guys."
I KNEW IT.
I KNEW IT.
So I said ok, tell that to pops. KR proceeded to tell him that we are not his taxi service and he had said he would go, and if he did not go, WITH A GOOD ATTITUDE he can find himself trucking his stuff home, as we were DONE driving him around. So, we waited and Kurt text that he was sorry being a poop and will go. We started driving to Point Reyes.
Coming over the Richmond Bridge, and trying to find a place to stay. The Marin headland was full of poison oak, and we finally got a reservation at Tomales Bay Resort, which is on the West side of Tomales Bay. We were going to have dinner at Salt Water but while waiting for them to open at 5, we decided to just get sandwiches at the Inverness Deli and Market across the street with a half dozen oysters. The Bay was beautiful. The resort was kind of quaint, a bunch of rooms and a small swimming pool, and at 200 a night, but it was on the water and Gracie swam a bit in the bay. We ate the sandwiches and watched a bit of the closing ceremony.
The next day was also cloudy but we drove into Point Reyes Station and had lunch at the Station House Cafe, then it was on to the light house. This being summer, the light house and surrounding was all in fog. We walked down the 300+ steps and took a look, then it was back to civilization. We stopped at Richmond Costco to buy groceries and it was back to the dorm.
No one was there, and we drove him to Alex' apartment, on Blake Street, 2212 , I think not too close to school. We started driving home. Had to stop at Buttonwillow to sleep in the back of the van before coming home about 3 AM.
Kind of weird being home with no one here. Alan went down to Rancho Bernardo Tuesday afternoon after watching mom all morning, as there was no caregiver that day.

August 16, Tuesday already?
Last post was July 20, really? Nic came and gone. He showed up on August 4, Thursday and left Tuesday, the 9th. Kurt was suppose to go with him to the VRLA expo, at the convention center but could not get his homework done on time to go so the 30 dollars wasted.
Today is August 16 and we are suppose to be leaving this weekend for school, Cal that is. We agonized as to whether to send Kurt back. If we can put money on it, we believe he will not be able to make our requirement of no lower than B-. Both KR and I think that he will have some C's (watch my word, he ends up with D's and is kicked out). Alan and Abby were here, and Sunday, Abby was suppose to leave but Alan did not look at the new itinerary and thought her flight was at 5 55 PM when it was at 12 55 PM, because of the typhoon, everything was changed, but no one told me and I only had the old flight schedule. So Abby left the next morning and had to transit through SFO, by herself, from the domestic to the international. On top of that, the flight out of SFO for Taiwan was delayed, from 2 15 to 4 55 PM. So Abby had plenty of time at SFO to wait.
Yesterday was the first day that there was condensation on the cars. The weather is changing. It is getting colder. But this year is nothing like last year where all of June and July and most of August was boiling. The weather has been very nice, and easy, hardly needing the fan at all. Guess I should not complain, it is only 43 in Canberra.
So I did a lot of shopping for Ed's family, buying hundreds of dollars of food and stuff and Nic had to carry back two 50 pound boxes of chocolate, cereal, clothes, nicknack. He only brought carry on for himself. He did buy something for his girlfriend Kate, but I don't know what it is. I think it was a purse. I got stuff from Whole Food, Sprouts and Trader Joe. All the stuff Sandy liked.
Kurt is suppose to clean his room enough to be able to leave. I don't think he is getting an A in his El Camino English class. Thursday is the last day. We are packing right now, the whole car should be packed and we will take the dog with us while Alan look out after mom and dad and the hens and the cats.
My knee is not feeling as well as I thought it should. It was hurting a bit more the last week, and I have only ran once a week for the last three weeks and only about 1 mile each time. The pain was pretty good. Dad has been leaking and mom seems more confused. What am I to do? Lovely won't be here til October. I just bought our ticket to see Will, leaving Thursday night the 21 of Oct and returning Tuesday the 25. We are staying at the Fairbridge Inn again, and I have yet to book the room for NYC.
Will finished "Boot" or beast.
