I guess I started this and never even got a word in.
Oh how time flies.
The blogs I follow, I always feel like the blogger is not writing often enough, guess as no one follows mine, that does not matter, but I also feel like I am not writing often nor long enough, like Lovely is able to do.
In order to recap Yosemite, I have to go back in the photos and remind myself what happened.
September 6, Thursday, we drive up to Yosemite, stopping at Best Western Village Inn just outside Fresno. Early on the 7th, we reach the gate at Yosemite at 8 30 am. Coming to the view of half dome at 9 30 was awesome. We get our permit at the wilderness center and the plan is to spend the night at the tent village, formerly Curry, and hike up to LYV with our pack and overnight, then do HALF DOME on Sunday, spend the night, and hike down Monday, on the way to Mono Lake.
WELL, that was wishful thinking.
We see a lynx, or something like that by the Wilderness center.
We get our bicycle out and ride about 15 miles. Maybe it was a little too much.
KR swims in the Merced. A bit cold for me.
So 10 am we start on Mist Trail, with a full pack for both of us. 4.3 to LYV, 8.2 to Half Dome.We arrive at camp about 2 15 and set up, then went for a swim at the river. Dinner was freeze dried food. Next morning on my way back from the log, after a long night of cold sleeping on the ground in the tent, my back tweaks a little. OH BOY OH BOY
We hike up HALF DOME and what a hike...... gnarly, cable, gloves, oh my We hike all the way down and sees this long long rattle snake. While resting at camp, a giant tree falls over no more than 50 feet from us. THANKFULLY the other way it falls.
THEN IT HAPPENED.....
I leaned over to pull the pack out, and my back seized, completely, unable to stand up, and move and all....... I call 911 and got rescued down the mountain, by the very best of Yosemite Search and Rescue.
