Taroko Gorge Thursday

OH WHAT A DAY !!!!!!!

It was a rush getting Kurt up and to the bus station.  Last night we figured out how to use the bus system, 1100. or 1126. or 1133A, or 1141.

We got down to the train station and found where to buy the bus tickets, 250 each.  Kurt is no where to be found.  KR went back up to where the cross over from the east side to the west side, and he was on the top, looking for us.

We got on, and they depart RIGHT ON TIME.  There were only 7 of us.  We rode to Swallow Grotto and got off and walked the old highway.  Then two workers told us we cannot go to the Tunnel of 9 Turns because of the rock prevention construction.  So I stuck my finger out, and got us a ride from some guy and got past that point.  Cars are allowed but walkers were not.  We had some sausages, and a

We also saw the IndianHead rock.

We walked down to the original bus drop off and went up to Taixiang where we found out that the Baiyang Trail was open.  This is where the Curtain of Water is, and I thought we could walk behind the waterfall.

WELL, the boys took off their clothes and Kurt changed into bathing suit and KR went in his underwear and sat and walked under the water fall that is in the tunnel.  IT WAS GREAT FUN !!!!!

The walk up there was 2.1 KM ONE WAY, and I was tired by the time we came down.

We took the bus, but about a mile down, had to wait about 45 min for constrution, where the road is one way, and then instead of getting off at the visitor center we decided to go all the way back to the train station.

Having had no lunch, kind of, we walked on the East side of the station (opposite from where we lived, West side) and found a bee shop where we bought some honey.  The worker was going to eat at a local place so we followed her and ate there too.  I had dirt chicken, and they had pork chops with four different side dishes.  We  bought a bottle of local wine and had a swig.  We listened to a sermon and went to sleep.

We were very tired.,  My hip and knee was whinging a bit.
