We got up about 5 30 and Kurt actually got up and said that he could not sleep, had weird dreams of and on. They finally left about 7 30 for surfing at Middles. Kurt had four waffles, and two glasses of milk. Gonna eat us out of house and home. Sarah was up and they met. I did laundry, and rode up Crest to get chocolate milk, etc.
They had a long surf and then went to Farmer's Market but didn't get much.
They had lunch, I had made mac and cheese. Sarah Phan dropped off all kinds of milk. I must make her more smoothie. I had been cleaning and repairing the end tables I got from the alley, but no takers yet.
KR took a little nap and Kurt detailed his car inside. I think. KR said only the front, and it was 'too much and a multiple day project'. Really?
We watched SBCC sermon, and I spoke to mom and went to bed.

KURT ARRIVES
I have been getting up about 4 am and then try to go back to Sleep. Most days I am successful and sleep until 5. Today, however, I woke at 4 and pretty much stayed awake. Kurt got on the plane, had to jettison a pair of shoes and his notes.
Yesterday the painters started spraying the front. The color of the trim is a bit light. Oh well. Just like the inside gray/green. They will prolly finish tomorrow, Saturday, and then tree trimmers Tuesday and Wednesday. Then I really need to start thinking about a patio.
AND A FIRE PIT
Now they say maybe done Monday maybe Tuesday they will be done. I put a whole bunch of paperwork either away or in the trash. Got Kurt's room ready. KR swept and I vacuumed. We left about 4 to pick him up. He was early, and waiting for us.
First question: what happened to the front doors?
And then the kitchen.
The painters left about 4.
We stopped at Jack in the Box and got Kurt six tacos. He ate five and I ate one.
KR had dinner of philly steak, pasta from Sarah Phan, and salad.
We had Zoom
We told him a few riot acts, like no vaping on our property, no vaping in the cars, and we told him needs discussion about his car, etc. Oh interesting times!!!!

WORKING Thursday
Got up by 5 30, and left for work by 6 30. KR hung up the laundry and did a bunch of stuff. I was done by 12, some patients canceled. Had lunch and went for a ride. Debra came around 3 and picked up the boxes of food.
The churches are suppose to be able to hold worship service but KHC is deciding NOT to this weekend, and they want to hold off until the capacity is up to 200. Right now it is no more than 100😩
I had zoom with Adele and Julie.
KR pruned the hedge by Gilbert. Gilbert's gardener had pruned his side much bushes had fallen to our side.
We also took off Kurt's door and notched it slightly on top so the top of door hooks can sit properly and I painted the top, as it was never painted.
Kelby Bruno called and said she had pieces of 'white chips' in her food so I told her to come over for a look see. She had chipped off the marginal ridge of #3 and tooth has a large OL composite that is all washed out. Can see decay. Told her to get either a E-Max onlay or some kind of crown. We talked for over two hours. Very interesting lady.
KR had ribs and salad and went to bed. By 8 30

MORE PAINTING
They show up, just the two of them, until about 11. We walked the dog Esplanade and the parking is now open. It was foggy and COLD. Gracie almost got nose to nose with a gopher, We picked up a Happy Birthday sign for Sarah. It is her birthday this Sunday. KR got Gracie a squirrel !!
I picked up a metal shelf from the alley and within 20 minutes of posting on BNT, it was gone. Then Adele text me about Salvation Army food pickup. They have 5 pallets of boxes of ; 2/2.5 pounds chicken meatballs, fully cooked, plus a five pound bag of shredded cheese. I was suppose to get 2 boxes but they ended up giving me 6 boxes. KR gave a box to Matthew and a box to Harbor Rock, and we kept one box. Debra Stromwell will pick up three boxes tomorrow.
We had Zoom with Mike, Carole, Mike, Patty, Joann and Tony were not available.

PAINTING GALORE
So John Pepperling comes to paint the inside. TWO GUYS and then Chris Dunn comes to paint the outside., four or five guys. We are going with the inside green kitchen as the outside trim color and pure white again.
KR leaves 8 15 to walk the dog and I go see Chris Bruno 9 am appt. By the time I came home at 10 30, the inside painters was done and gone and the outside painters working furiously. KR took Gracie for a walk and then went for a paddle. I went for a ride. Nothing to get from the alleys.
The sand and make a mess of painting, and Chuck's roofer is tearing tiles off, and I sent the estimate back to American Arbor Care.
We forgot all about Farmer's Market.
KR didn't eat dinner and went down in weight the next morning.

MEMORIAL DAY 2020
I seem to get up about 4 am and then go back to sleep and finally get up about 5 30. GOD IS SO GOOD. I read Jesus Daily, and we do daily devotional.
KR had Zoom with Chris' group and I tried cleaning before Andrea comes. My finger is STILL BLEEDING pretty good so I put some New Skin, which smells like superglue. HAHAHA Finally stops bleeding.
Andrea and Maribel starts cleaning and KR and I go for a bike ride. We rode from Ave I to El Porto, stopping on the way to see Mark's dinghy. It was only 13 miles and I felt like 50 miles. We got home and tried to get things ready for the painters tomorrow. John Pepperling to do the ceiling and Chris Dunn's company to do the outside, I also put the beef stew in the crock pot.
Last two visits from Andrea was 250 each, and today is 150, which is more like it. She said Mondays still good.
Then we went to John and Katherine Crookston's house for happy hour. KR had two beers and I had a glass of moscato, and it got too cold. We came home and ate the stew and listened to Pastor Mike's sermon and KR faded and went to bed by 7 30. I finally went to bed by 8 30

Sunday
Seems like most morning I get up about 5 am and lay around and wait until KR gets up. He went for a paddle with Mike Ackerman. I did laundry and cleaned up more ants, I left a can of cat food out and they were EVERYWHERE.
Sarah moved out of Kurt's room and into the other room. Everything is ready for him this Friday. He said he is applying for more jobs, etc. He also had tutoring yesterday. GOOD Need to make more money
KR goes to paddle with Mike Ackerman who thought he can paddle from Ave A to Ave I, but lasted to Ave A to Ave C. They had a great time. He came back and we had ARMED church on FB live, and then we went to pick up the bike from BNT and nice Trek. KR went to get bees with Sarah and Chris. I started on the bike.
I also cooked two pizzas from Donna of BNT and they were vegetarian but I had left over frozen pepperoni and they were quite good. One from California Pizza Kitchen and one of Amy's.
Two hours and a bit of blood and many sore fingers later, I got a really nice bike, complete with basket. Jon Liu came by and had a beer with KR, then Mark P came by and had a beer with KR, and I had a small bottle of wine, from Danielle. Jon also took home 9 bunches of beets.
Gracie played with Gaia and was really tired. KR washed her and we watched Branch of Hope sermon. Pastor Dan gave the sermon. He is really good, young and well spoken.
KR cooked the 4 bunches of beets.
KR had dinner of pizza and salad.

SATURDAY AHHHH KURTIS NOT FLYING !!!!!!!
So I get up and get a text from Kurt that he is NOT flying, as all transit through Japan needs to quarantine 14 days, and the transit time is too too long. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??????
So he booked another flight for next Friday, as there is NOTHING available, now he has to pay MORE MORE MONEY, for not thinking ahead and spending less money, oh well.
I went to Ralphs and got chicken and spicy pickles.
KR and I puttered around, he replanted the pumpkin plants and I posted a bunch of cilantro seeds. He went for a paddle as there is no surf and I went riding around, as the end of the month is approaching and there should be stuff !!!! I ran a total of 3.01 miles, not 3.10 hahaha I made a mistake in calculations, and cycled 6.6 miles. SO SLOW
KR made peanut butter cookies and they were so so good. We walked Gracie to Hickory Park, and dropped of some carpophen for Sergio's dog Max.
We tried to listen to SBCC sermon but could not get on. Guess have to watch LIVE. So we went to bed. Dinner for KR was Swedish meatballs with noodles and chicken from Ralph's. He watched a little news. ANTS ARE BACK !!!!

Friday
We got up early, 5 30 again. Walked the dog down at the beach. KR is amped to go surfing and left after we came back home. I started to clean the kitchen and make an omelette. Doug came by and dropped off three nucs. He will pick up three or four that are full of bees tonight. I asked him to get Kurt a job on the platform.
I spent several hours cleaning the kitchen and filing paper work, trying to figure out my bill to BCO. I finally realized I have not paid the deductible, that is why the cost is so high.
KR came home and ate the omelette I cooked. We moved one dresser into the other room in anticipation of Kurt's arrival.
We had zoom and dinner and Doug came back for the bees.

FIRST DAY BACK TO WORK !!!!
Thursday 5/21/2020
I have been off 9 weeks, this is the 10th week after I last worked on 3/12/2020
It was pretty slow in the morning and then got faster and finally got finished at 2. 7-2 with N95 was too much. My face was hot and itched.
Yvonne and Kym were so helpful.
Dr Sata was there too and I worked on Maribel's brother in law, #7, 8 and 27. It was so hot by the time finished and came home. They bought me two taco bell and I actually ate them all. I was so hungry.
I went for a ride right away because I knew if I didn't i would fall over. I had a slight back spasm on my mid back on the right side too. After my ride, I laid down and was asleep in what I thought was 10 seconds !!! hahahaha KR was sleeping too.
Got up when the dog started barking.
Went to Gooch's for dinner. It was Mike, Carole, Chris, Sarah, Paula and Leah, and us. Chili and cornbread and salad. We were waiting for Carole's famous dessert, but none came. HAHAHA We came home and I went to bed right away.

Well, THE THE LAST LAST DAY OF ROOFING Wednesday
Well, Rod's crew forgot to cut off the three beams in the back and place the diverter, so they are coming back to FINISH really, today. Still have not heard back from Rod's painter, think his name is John or Chris.
KR got up at 5 15 and got a bunch of texts from Mark Paulson already. He left at 6 30 to go surfing.
He comes back and we go to Rosie's with Gracie. I fall asleep on the beach. Tried to get Mark to go with Gaia and he went to get a fisning license and a pole for his 12 foot inflatable.
Gracie was exhausted and she and KR go take a nap.
We have zoom meeting and I go to bed pretty soon after. WORKING TOMORROW

LAST DAY OF ROOFING - Tuesday
I was woken up at 5, don't know from what. I tried to go back to sleep but no go, and got up and made coffee. One of the first days to get up before KR. He went to check out the surf, beaches blown out, Mark sent him a text.
Spent a few hours cleaning, and always more cleaning. The Black & Decker Pivot Vac I 'rescued' from the trash works just great. But I didn't realize they threw it out because it was full of FLEAS !!! While I was rinsing the filter in the sink, these black dots started moving and swimming and they were LIVE FLEAS, after they had been rinsed in the bucket outside for awhile. It is worth about a00 bucks at most stores.
KR came home from surfing, and we went to Farmer's Market. Got about six baskets of strawberries, and I spread most of the cuttings at the Y lot. Also walked Gracie at the FM. I did ride to Jon's house and gave him two baskets and some beet leaves and celery packets. Someone dropped off a big bag of chocolate milk and celery and carrots from the TUSD lunch.
KR had Sarah Phan's beef stew and took a nap (that is when I rode around). Not much in the alleys.
Chris Dunn from church (Clean Line Painting) also came to look at the house and give us an estimate.
We had another ant infestation on the island, KR left the honey cup on top and ants just know whow to come and get them.
We watched ARMED church sermon from 11 days ago during dinner. Went to bed by 9

WEEK 10 NO LOCK DOWN Roofing continues and WORKING THIS WEEK
So it did rain in the morning but not too much. Mark Paulson called and said that it was pouring down at his house. The roofers came and removed the tarp and started right up on the roof. KR and Mark went to walk the dogs at fire road in PV and I stayed home to clean the garage some more, and to meet with American Arbor Care. Brandon comes and he will email me an estimate.
Gustavo the other tree guy says 1000 dollars.
Eddie the painter says 10,000. Ben says 4200.
KR and Mark came back and they had a great time at the golf course. After left over Carl's Jr chicken sandwich lunch, they had a beer, Mark left, and Kevin came to put the two cabinet doors on the lazy susan. I went to Donn'a house BNT and got three pizzas and a whole bunch of things to eat. She said whoever can come first, and I said ME ME AND ME, There must be 25 dollars worth of stuff there, and girls scout cookies too.
Had a visit with Chris Bruno 2 45. I went running today, just two miles. Hip doing ok, just the cardio part, can't breath. Need to run more.
Got back and Brian came over with beef stew he cooked in the crock pot, and we had dinner. KR made a salad, and Brian also brought bread. We had an interesting discussion on his life as a juvenile delinquent when he was young, and how he went to bible camp around junior high somewhere near Fresno and how he went to prison, etc. What an interesting guy.
We cleaned up and listened to Paul V Branch of Hope. He had proposed to the Elders to open up after May 31, as some of the churches are doing, but the Elders vetoed the idea. VERY interesting sermon. So we shall see where we go from there on church. KR said he would go to KHC when they open and if masks are required he would wear one.

SUNDAY
Coughing woke me up at 4 15 and I had a little cough syrup, and went back to sleep about 5 30. KR went surfing at Ave A and came back it was ok but he was out for two hours. We watched Pastor Mike and then we tried to watch Paul V but he was on 'live' and we came in late so we watched Pastor Thrash. Brian M came over and he watched the second half with us and he wanted to borrow a disc cleaning thing as the DVD player at mom's skips he said.
We tried to hit a squirrel on the top of telephone pole, but three pellets later, he ran away. Me twice and KR once.
We put the carpets back in the garage. I mopped the WHOLE GARAGE and then got things to look nice in there. Rod came and tarped the roof, as it is suppose to rain a little early tomorrow morning, like 7 - 10 am. KR took a nap and I went for a ride.
We took the dog for a walk down at the beach. It was still warm, and there were lots of people down there, not just swimming, but sitting around. The BATHROOM WAS NOT OPEN THOUGH.
I had left over for dinner, KR had a Giant Chicken sandwich from Carl's jr. He got the swarm of bees from the rental house, and will be combining the bees tomorrow.
We went to bed about 9

Saturday 5/16/2020
KR went surfing early, and I went for a ride and a run. Yup, I ran the alley. After he came back we went to Rosie's Beach and Gracie had a great time, of course. I picked up two bags of trash off of the beach. Then it was to the Farmer's Market. We got 26 bunches of spinach and three fennel and two beets. The spinach went to Patty Lopez, Julie, Adele, Jon Liu, and KR cooked 9 bunches.
I then went to pick up a bunch of food, like snacks and mandarin oranges and some chocolate pudding, off of Biak Street, then went to the bank and deposited my paycheck from last month. KR took a nap and Jon and his son Erin or Aaron came to visit.
I also got a blanket and sheets from the alley, I washed them and hung out to dry.
Made another mask, but I cannot remember who I was making it for. Darn....
We watched SBCC sermon at 5 and KR cooked the spinach. We also got more food from Sarah. I gave Jon the bittermelon soup. I finished the last batch finally.
KR didn't have dinner until 8 20. Went to bed soon after

DAY FOUR FRIDAY ROOFING
So they come early 7 20 to deliver the 'new'shingles, and Rod's crew come 7 35 to start on the roof. They work all day. KR get them burritos from LBJ, all want the same : asada burrito. I do a load of laundry, after getting some blanket and comforter from the alley. I also got a Tommy Bahama chair, just like the one in the back yard, but orange color.
KR goes surfing in Hermosa, and dropped off some clothes for Mary, and picked up a CHICKEN FAN !!! Oh it is so so LOVELY, just need a little cleaning.
Ben finally showed up about 1 15 and dropped off five large bags of clothes. He said to paint the whole house is 4200 dollars. Eddie the painter showed up at 3 30, referral from Danny Howe and said it 11000 dollars to paint. YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME.
Melissa and Wyatt, I just don't know what to think, NOT Kaela, came for a visit and brought the ramp for Gracie and some rags and other stuff. I think I will try to put the garage together tomorrow.
I cooked hamburger/with ground beef and turkey, yum. M & W left around 4 30.
The vitamins James ordered for me came. A whole box of stuff from Vitacost.com.
KR had the spaghetti sauce by Brian and a packet of ramen, Plus salad. And cookies. It was great.
Then we had Zoom and zoom again, to finish the sermon questions. We went to bed.

ACTUAL DAY THREE OF ROOFING
So I went to JB early, while KR went surfing. I told Rod that Slate is it, and NOT CHARCOAL. He said the guys are coming to do the cricket thing. Gracie threw up all over the back lawn and KR got a squirrel early for her. Her throw up had a little blood in it. KURT will be home in 10 days. Gonna have to set limits.
KR came back surf was no good. KR got a squirrel, took a few shots. The guys came and started working on the cricket. I started putting the winter clothes away and cleaning the drawers in Sarah's room. JUST in case Kurt is staying here.
I had a webinar on cementation and crowns, E-Max and Brux-ir crowns. It was interesting. We went to walk Gracie down at Esplanade and she was so so hot.
Came home to amazing dinner by Sarah. This chicken fennel cabbage porriage rice dish.

Wednesday DAY THREE OF ROOFING
I got woken up with KR moving around and I thought I can go back to sleep as I was tired, but no. Finally got up about 6. We went to the cliffs for a walk about. The bluff was still closed, but we walked it anyway, just trying to stop Gracie from inhaling a foxtail.
Drove by the beaches, and it was OPEN for running and surfing..... great
Rod and the inspector came and Rod needs to get a 'cricket' up there and shore up the area where there will be pooling water. Inspector said that should have done that when they were doing the boards, and now a bit more work to get the divot not to be one and to drain properly. Oh well.
And John the painter came by saying he would repair the ceiling in the living room and give us a bid for painting the fascia and whole house.
KR put up the surfboards in the garage. I picked up like a BUNCH of bags of celery, and cooked them with broccoli, and boiled some in the bittermelon soup. YUM
While putting the stuff away in the garage, I found the samples of shingles and the ones they delivered Charcoal is WRONG WRONG. So I will go tomorrow to JB and see if I like them or not.
I got onto the webinar for Oral Pathology, pediatric version, which I thought was great, But yesterday I could not get on at all. Then I rode the alleys and got a sandwich maker, and a pan and a bacon cooker. ALL GOING AWAY !!!! Sarah will try the sandwich maker, if she does not like, she will give away.,
We had trouble signing into Zoom for bible study. Evidently they changed the format for the FREE version.

Day TWO of roofing and Chiro and no webinar
So the roofers came at about 7 15 and started banging away. It was more wood work. They finished the wood and then Rod's people came and started the fascia work. One piece of wood was actually like crooked or warped and it was just laying on the front walk way and you can see it is warped.
Rod also looked at the ceiling in the living room where the nails or something got jostled somehow and was coming through the dry wall. He said he will ask the painter whose roof he is doing to come and patch and paint. Something needs to be done. I think part of it is that there were about 12 guys here on the roof working at the same time. I have never seen anything like it Normally you see maybe 5 or 6 guys, but 12??? It sounded like a drum roll yesterday.
I tried to get on the webinar at 9 but I could not. Had an appt with Chris at 11 15 and he was almost 10 minutes late. Got home and Rod's workers had just left. They cleaned the garage pretty well, but still ALOT of dust and grime. I was so dirty and filthy by the time we were done with the garage at about 4 !!!!!
Andreas and Marisol came about 9 15 and started working. After they cleaned the house, they helped me with the garage and we put most of the stuff away, and they wiped away the grime of the pantry. I managed to put most of the stuff away, and KR helped a little and then he went to water the yard and eat.
Also the shingles got delivered about 4 and they used this conveyer belt thing to put all that up on the roof, TOOK a long time to get them stacked so they don't fall down and kill someone.
He got me about 12 heads of broccoli. I rode to Jon's and gave them five. Andreas did not like broccoli so they didn't get any. BUT they got two large boxes of clothes that Lovely and Suz had given us, and I was going to donate, but hey, lets give to someone who might like it.
KR cooked the steak that was marinating for two days. Then Sarah said there was food for me. We were blessed with bittermelon soup, and a pho like dish with ground chicken and shrimp, and kho shrimp that was spicy and yummy, Tomorrow she said she is making cha ca thang long, dill fish.
I stayed up until about 10 and went to bed. Tomorrow is inspection by Torrance Planning and then the shingles start.

ROOFING STARTS Monday WEEK 9 of LOCK DOWN
KR gets up at 4 45 to meet his buddies Mark and Phil. Well, it was big but blown out, so he didn't go and came back home.
The roofers came about 7 30, like about 12 guys, and started tearing the roof off. Man they worked hard, and it sounded like a machine gun going off and I started to get dizzy. I went to the 99 cent store and bought some more soda. They drank a bunch and at 11 half went to get lunch and the other half stayed under the tree for a nap.
It was DIRTY DIRTY work. The covering over the west side of the garage came off and my dental stuff got pretty messy. I was upset and asked them to cover back up. It is going to be really hard to clean everything tomorrow.
They left at about 4 30 after sweeping up and use magnets to pick up the metal nails and stuff. KR and I primed the fascia boards. Rod said it would be about 1500 dollars to replace all the fascia boards. The guys also punched through something on the roof and now our new vaulted ceiling has five spots that look like the nails poked through and will need to be fixed.
I also got a LOT OF FOOD from Sarah, from catfish to chicken to more pasta to more yogurt to buns and pickled vegetables. OH WOW.
We had dinner about 5 30 and went to bed by dark!!! I was very tired.

Sunday
We walked the dog down at the beach and 'stole' the signs, all of the COVID19 signs I can find. He will go get me some more signs this coming week as the beaches will be open May 15. We came home and he went to try to surf but surf no good and he went to Costco. I went for a ride and went to Costco too !!! Now we have five cans of nuts. HAHAHAH
We listened to online sermons of KHC, some of Branch of Hope and some of ARMED.
I changed the sheets, did laundry and he made the bed and then he made Heath Bit oatmeal raisin walnuts cookies, OH MAN so good. I started making curtains and then Jon Liu came for a visit and we had beers and a glass of wine. Then we tried cleaning some more, and had dinner of Sarah Phan's left over, chicken parmesan, and penne noodles with meat sauce. I gave her the camping mat we were giving away, and all her tupperware.
The garage is kind of ready for the roofers tomorrow. I biked 9.9 miles today.

Saturday
I could not sleep and KR and I both got up about 4 30. He drove down to HB to go surfing and I started on the garage after a ride to Mary's to drop off some eggs and the Peridex. Sean finally got the tooth pulled.
KR came home I cooked eggs and bacon for brekkie. We went to Farmer's Market to look for scraps, not much. Not like last week with 19 bunches of parsley. Then it was GARAGE TIME !!
We brought everything down from the high cabinets and tarped them in the middle of the garage. Sarah and Chris really helped. It was so so dusty. KR went for a drive up to PV and got me two of the NO WALKING NO PARKING COVID19 signs, and I will get some more from the Esplanade tomorrow.
We watched SBCC sermon on line. It was really good on, Mother's Day. Lovely got some nice cards from her kids.
SIGH will I get any???

Friday
KR does not go down to the beach to surf, as it is a bit smaller, so he will go tomorrow.
We go down to HB to walk the dog at the green belt and pick up some chairs from Jamie of BNT at Clear Recovery Center. Guess they bought new chairs, and we bring home 5 blue ones and he gets them to be washed in mom's back balcony so they would dry.
I keep on cleaning the garage.
Juan the tree man comes and look at the trees we want pruned then he goes to Sarah Phans and give her an estimate of 700 dollars for her palm tree removal in the back yard.
We go walk the dog at about 5 30 and forgot about the Zoom bible study. We get home late and join in. Then I was so so tired I fell asleep before KR came to bed.

THURSDAY at the beach at Huntington
I didn't get up until 6 30 SO LATE I was so sleepy, could not get up. We left at 7 30 for HB. Got good parking and Gracie won't go down until pops showed up. It was getting warm already. Gracie had a great time, and limped all the way back to the car.
We came home and I went to the 99 cent store for some soda, and other stuff. Came home and went to mom's to get Les Crowson's stuff and dropped off at his house. An hour later, went to Sarah's house to remove the paper wasp nests that she had on the top floor of her parent's room balcony. She gave us some penne pasta.
I was good and sweaty when I got home. Ate some, finished the masks for Sandy at NH and it was time for Zoom with Adele and Julie. Adele has a weevil infestation, and threw a bunch of stuff away. AAAHHHHHHH My chickens would have eaten stuff like oats and what not. NEXT TIME hahaha, as if there would be a next time.
Mark Regan came for a visit. Was suppose to be tomorrow but KR wants to go surfing down in HB with Mark Paulson, IF the surf is good.
I continued to clean the stuff in the garage. Got a car load of stuff for mom's house, and more misc stuff to give away. Chris Gooch came over and I gave him three little fold out chairs that we have had for 20 years, almost, that the kids used to use. Red, Green and Blue all gone today. Plus I put a Christmas tree stand on BNT, and the bullet cases went to a silversmith too.
Sarah Phan dropped off more food, stew, this shrimp thing and soup. I made vegetable soup with the kalbi ribs I boiled today, and KR had it for dinner.
He is still grumpy about drinking. He had one or two beer today and took a long nap. I am not going to stop him, this time, it is his choice. I can just pray.
Went to bed by 9
IT WAS HOT TODAY
I THINK I AM IN REMISSION - hardly any rocking and my shimmering eyes are getting better too.
We listened to the second half of SBCC sermon and it was really good.

Wednesday OFFICE meeting
We got up by 6 and walked the dog. ON THE WEST SIDE !!!! One Life Guard truck was down at Dolphin Park to keep the surfers that were there yesterday.
Came home and got ready for GoTo Office meeting for office. Learned a lot of stuff. Then it was to Webinar regarding the PPP loans that people are getting, which I didn't know the 75% you can get towards employee salaries will be forgiven, which means you don't have to pay back????? Does it mean the USA will be printing more money? Then I had a long chat with Regina Cotton, she is so tired of Dr Weston's antics. She wants to work somewhere else, I told her to wait and see.
Then KR covered the attic with a tarp or two so the roofers won't get the stuff dirty. He also weeded the serenity garden outside, then it got too hot. Mark Paulson dropped off THREE SIX packs of beer. oh man
We went for a walk down to the beach. It was 82 degrees today and it was still HOT.
Dinner was left over tacos that Sarah Phan made. So good. I ate very little.

Taco Tuesday
KR went to help Brian by picking him up at the volkswagon place on Earl Street and taking him down there to the beach. He brought Gracie and walked her by Alta Vista Park while picking up chocolate milk for me and other snacks that the kids there won't eat. We will eat anything.
I showed Sarah kind of, how to do laundry. She hung them out.
He ate and then we went to Farmers' Market. IT WAS DAY OF PARSLEY. I must have gotten 20 bunches of the stuff and gave them ALL AWAY. I made tabuli salad, which was chopped parsley, tomatoes, bulgur, garlic, garlic, parmesan cheese plus dressing. The chopping of parsley took so so long.
I then rode to Jon Liu's and dropped some parsley off and to the 99 cent store for guava juice. Then Stella next door got some parsley and a bunch of folks at BNT took parsley too and we had tabuli for dinner., Plus Sarah brought over taco meat as it is CINCO DE MAYO, on TACO TUESDAY, but because of the virus CORONA, we cannot go out to eat. Oye
I spent a good amount of time trying to clean the garage, NEXT WEEK IS NEW ROOF !!!!
We finally went to bed about 9

MONDAY - WEEK 8 OF LOCK DOWN
KR didn't go surfing this morning. He got on Zoom with the bible study group. We had several conversations with the roofers and is still in a quandary as of which company to use. Then we went to the COVID19 testing by Harbor UCLA and it is a self administered swab test.
We drive in with the ID and the email confirmation, and they direct us to the tent where they give us a bag with sterile qtip, and a tube of liquid. At the next tent the lady gives us the instruction on how to cough three times into your elbow and then swab your cheeks, and palate for at least 20 seconds and put in tube with the liquid and seal in zip lock and place in large bin. Your result will come in a few days sent to you by email.
Sarah made eggrolls, that were great !!!!
KR then went to the farm for some flower seeds. I cooked cabbage and and crock pot chicken legs. Then it was time for chiropractor, and I arrived 15 minutes early. By mistake. It was great with Chris.
Came home after electro-stim AND the rolling table. I made the masks for Sarah's kids, and brought them to her. Hoping they fit.
We went to bed late like 9 30

Sunday
So we are up and walking the dog at the beach. I am tired of walking on the east side, so we do the WEST and only got beeped off twice by the cops. Once going south, and once north. Gracie got to touch nose with a gopher, and she didn't DO ANYTHING !!!!!!!
We watched KHC sermon and a little of Paul V sermon. KR went to get some dirt behind Lago Seco but his seeds were gone, so he would need to go back to the ranch for some more.
Mark Paulson came by and brought his pitbull Kia that looks just like our old dog Brindi. I went for a ride and got a laundry hanger, plus some cups from Magic Mountain. AND A WHOLE small box of GOOD CAN FOOD !!!!
HAHAHHA
Alley roaming is the best. I also saw a bunch of floor mats that Sarah, the Vietnamese lady that has been cooking food and giving us the left over, and she sent her husband over to get them. Spread the love.
We had dinner and drove down to the beach to look at bioluminescent of the ocean. WHAT A SURPRISE There were so many cars down there that the west side of Esplanade was completely full of cars and people looking at the ocean. We went up near Torrance Beach, but the waves were not too good, and still a little early at 8 30 so we went home after a little while.
While driving home, the Redondo cops started blocking south bound of Esplanade to traffic, and the alley parallel to Esplanade, and Catalina so people would not be able to drive down to the beach. OH MAN, what an overreach.
We came home and went to bed.
We told Rod Taylor that he is doing the roof, and then Steve wants to do the roof too.

Saturday
KR went surfing with Mark, and I changed the sheets and did the laundry. I also put the vacuum online for free with NextDoor and FB Bnt.
KR had the pho that Sarah made. Very Good !!!
Then we went to Farmers market. and walked Gracie. It was pretty warm, and she gasped and was so hot.
We got 15 bunches of beets and i rode to Jon Liu's and delivered 7 bunches of beets. We cooked maybe 6 bunches and will be freezing some. I picked up food from Sarah and it was bun rieu which is a Vietnamese noodle dish with crab and meat. It was great.
We had dinner, I went over to water the house, and Mark had left the dining room lights on, for hours, so I text him via KR to make sure to turn the lights off and not to leave water ring on the dining room table.
Then it was the phone call to mom, and after I finished with her, Lovely and I spent a good 30 minutes ordering the stuff from Taiwan, wondering if it would get delivered on time and if Kurt can bring in.
I didn't get to bed until 10 30 so late. The wonders of technology, texting her while on email, and Sarah texting to borrow beaters to make a cake.

Friday MAY 1 - all UNION workers UNITE
Well, another month.
KR got up really early and went surfing. King Newsom had ordered the beaches in ALL OF CALIFORNIA closed, but OC sheriff said that he is NOT following through, to arrest people, or chase them out of the water.
WOW and WOW
Spoke with Megha about buying the PPE stuff from Taiwan, and went over a bunch of options.
I went for a run, down the alleys, just two miles. Then I went for a ride, just around the neighbor-
hood, didn't see anything interesting. KR came home and I got the fan from Mom's for Sarah Miles. KR had lunch and I made another mask this one Snoopy and he took a nap while I sat outside for awhile. We walked the dog in PV, trying to go on the dividing line between Torrance and PV but that was closed too. We drove up to Lunada Bay and there were surfers there too, looks like boated in.
Came home and found out Kurt didn't go to class, this week, we think, and has no job lined up. We text him and told him that he is not living here if he does not have a job, and he said he would need to borrow a tent. Don't know what is wrong with that kid.
We didn;t have Zoom Bible Study. It was Peter's birthday, and I think the Gooch's had some kind of shindig.
We had left over for dinner. And went to bed

Thursday I should be working !!!!!!!
Instead of going surfing, KR and I walked the dog CHADWICK CANYON
It has been years, probably at least five since we were down there. It is not a trail as there are working 'farms' at the end of the trail, so no CAUTION tape across. We parked at the business center and walked Gracie.
The foundation to the chicken coop long gone. Someone is building a tool shed at the end of the asphalt drive. We walked up to Browndeer Trail and turned around. KR got the owner of the first lot on the walk to the left permission to pick some poppies. There were hundreds of poppies of all colors behind the shed that is being built. Even some orange ones.
My hip and sciatica is really hurting me, so I did alot of stretching. KR pulled some weeds out the front and disassembled my broken bike and tossed the frame into the trash. I felt bad just throwing the metal away, but with this virus thing, I have not seen the metal guy around. Maybe the metal recycler shop is not open.
KR took a nap and I did more yoga stretches and got the room ready, iRoomba each room.
Chris and Sarah came over about 4. She is very nice. KR went to Costco to buy some last minute stuff as our membership expires today.
Chris and Sarah left and went back over to the Gooch's as Peter is here and they want some family time.
We had left over for dinner, meatloaf from Brian and mashed potatoes. Hard not to eat too much during this interesting time.
I also signed KR and me up for virus testing, next Monday at 11. Should be interesting.
Went to bed and finished Jeff Gill's last half of the sermon on Isaiah.
