Monday Almost our Kenya adventure 8/26/2024 H 80 L 62

We were up early.   Me especially since the moskies got me three times.  I was up itching away.

KR had his morning group and I  cleaned before Andrea and Maribel came to clean.  We took all the bullets  over to mom's so in case there was a fire here, the fire fighters will  come and put the fire out.

KR did a bunch of pollination of the dragon fruit.  We should have a lot of fruit this  year.

The T mobile modem came and we set it up.  Should be working ok.  

Marmi and Mr Gray   are so sweet and came to eat.  They  are  not  too afraid of  Kurt  anymore.,

Kurt, KR and I all walked Angel to the park.  We talked about what should be done with the house in case of our early demise.  Of course we won't.

KR had ramen with  chicken leg and normandy  blend vege.  I  made a bowl for Kurt too.  I  finished the tuna salad.

Sunday Church and hiking for Kurt

We were up early.   I  got up  twice to pee, and tried to sleep  in.  The watch did not want to sync to  my fitbit.   Keeps looking for the 3.  I thought with KR's new phone he would  be able to sync.  He can't either.  No sleep score for either of us.

We went to church after KR took Angel to t he  Fire Road.   I did two loads of laundry.  Ours and all the  floor mats

KR  brought me home and went back for Q and A.   I rode to the bank and forgot to sign the check that  mom got so tomorrow I gotta go back.  Stopped at  Ralphs and  bought some food.  

I bbq some chicken and the fish that we got from Jeff.  

Kurt came home very exhausted and went to sleep pretty early.

I did a lot of yard  work.  So did  KR.  I cleaned the chicken  coop  and t hen  spread  all this soil  from Katie  across the street.   I  also  cleaned out the front area behind the bench and spread more soil down there.  

Marmi and Mr Gray  got  flea meds today.   They are  turning  out t o  be such  sweet kitties.  I can  pick  up  Mr. Gray any time and  give  him  some loving  hahahahah

Saturday Church at South Bay Community H 77 L 60

Well, only three more  days until our  trip.  KR got the camera going, kind of.  He could not figure out how to  reformat the memory card.  He asked how much it is to buy another.  60 bucks plus I said.  Geez, him and technology is just not a good mix. 

We walked Angel at the beach.  He decided it  was too  s mall to surf so h e went  to Home Depot for some more chicken manure and of course a beer.  Kurt slept in and then went with me to FM and we got a  LOT of kind of old romaine but we are eating  them all anyway.

KR took a nap. I tried but no go.  

I made some BBQ chicken.    VERY good.  Used  this  passion  fruit sauce int he  BBQ  sauce mix.

We went to SBCC because Kurt wanted to go hiking early tomorrow.  The bridge to nowhere, in Glendora or something like that.  

My   neck is really really sore. 

Music too loud at SBCC and I was really  dizzy.

AHHHH Friday I love Fridays H 78 L 62 *

 We were up early and KR went surfing  I cleaned the house of course.  Packed some more stuff, printed out the eTA required for entry to Kenya.

I cooked  a pork chop for KR for lunch.  Kurt  had work late, said he had to be there at 10 and it was  a farm visit day.  Geez, to be able to go pet chickens and ducks and goats, and two pigs with some pigeons is sure a nice job.

KR took a nap and I went for a run.  Only 2.6 miles but took me 33 min, which is 12.42 per mile.  Too hot.  

We went to the beach to walk Angel and she didn't want to go south, then we went north  a  little and then she didn't want to go to the car so KR went and got the car.

KR had Sarah's stew for dinner and Kurt had the left over tacos.

Work day Thursday H 78 L 64

 Sure felt HOTTER than 78 today

I was up to pee I think at 1 40 and then 4 am I said a little more sleep and then next thing I know, KR is shaking  me awake at 6 am.  I rushed and got out and was a little early. 

I worked until 12, there were some cancellations I guess.  Johanna text me that she  was sick yesterday but she normally does not work Thursday.  Lauren from Western was there, and had a little trouble taking two teeth out.

Right after work I went to mom's and changed and walked in the pool for 45 min, then sat outside the back yard and watered the yard for about half hour.

KR went to Julie Hirtzell's memorial service at St Andrew's, and said  the place was packed.

He had left over stew for dinner.  

What a day Wednesday Olive meets Angel H 85 L 63

 Only got 7 hours of sleep last night.  Don't think I got up at all for pee

KR went surfing and I picked up Alan from YNot at 9 08 from the Transit 8 bus LAX to TOrrance.

I went for a alley ride.  Nothing to be had.  I also did two loads of laundry.  The  sheets were changedl ast night and Angel got a bath.

We went to Costco to buy coffee  and to transfer the phones, as the phone came in the afternoon.  KR got a 15 128 GB and Kurt got a 15 256.  I didn't need a phone so now we have two extra.  One I am going to make it a camera or something.

I made shank, for dinner, wonderful food.  Alan had a cheeseburger when he got here.  I also shopped at Ralphs, and got some free drinks.

Bible Study Tuesday H 85 L 63

 Kurt didn't even  wake up to eat dinner last night  so this morning he was  actually early for work.

KR went to his Tuesday  morning meeting then straight to meet with Phil B, and then  came home to go to FM.  We got a ton  of okra, not much else.  THen  to lunch with Mark Regan at a sushi place.

I was home cleaning then went to office to pick up hearing aids, and stopped at El Super for some bakery stuff for the office.  

Lunch was soup and half cheeseburger.

Kurt worked until about 4.

Went for a bike ride, and KR took a nap.

We had bible study.  KR had taco salad again, and Cristian brought sushi and :Pam made cookies.  Sumi brought over some more cookies.

Bed was almost 10 pm

Resting Monday H 81 L 62

 Well, the  first three days  gonna be in  the 80's  then moree 70's so I guess the summer is NOT officially  here yet.  Wait until we  leave and Kurt will say that the weather is so so hot and  everything dies as he will not water properly.  

Well, we shall see

KR  was up early and went surfing.  Kurt had work.  Gave him a good salad and half a burger.  He didn't eat the burger.  But at least I am saving him money.  I worked around the house, of course.  Always something to do.

KR had taco salad with the turkey  meat I  cooked yesterday and then a nap.  

I biked to Sumi's and dropped off her vege tray and then the alleys.  Over 11 miles but really slow.  Nothing to be had.  KR took Angel for a walk and I went running.  3 mile at 34 min.  Not too bad.  

I got a nice front door carpet from BNT and will wash  tomorrow and put on the  front door.  I also got a vacuum in front of a house.  Will rehab and give away.

CICLAVIA Sunday 8/18/2024 H 78 L 65 Hollywood H 86

 We decided  to go to Ciclavia instead of church.  First we walked Angel to the park, and the we loaded up the bikes.  Kurt and Corrina  had spent the night and they w ere at the party  late, so they  didn't go with  us.  Mike and Carole met us there.

Carole really  cannot bike too well.  I could not even go that slowly, so we left them after two hubs and they made it to Hollywood / Westwood and turned around.  They ended up at their car the same time we went to our car.  We didn't park together.

THERE WAS no one in costume !!  You gotta be kidding me.  There were no tutu's, except my bell wrap.  I should have worn my tutu.  We did get a bunch of drinks.

The route was 6.2 mile each way and we had a great time riding.

Drove home and had beef stew.  

KR took a nap and I went down after he got up to walk Angel.  Kurt took Corrina home

I cooked cheeseburgers for dinner

Saturday SHORT RIBS !!! H 78 L 67

 I could not get up again !!!  almost 7 am.  KR tried to go surfing no go so we went to the Fire Road and two dogs tried to nip Angel.  HA, no go with her, she just turns aronnd and says NOPE !!!!

KR got Kurt to help him takee out the fig tree and planted the persimmon tree in the front.  They went to the FM and got a little squash.  We stopped at Ralphs and got a lot of meat.  I cooked the beef short ribs and it was VERY good.  

Kurt took a long nap.  Corrina came by and they went up to LA for a birthday party.  Vietnamese theme.  

We are thinking of going to Ciclavia tomorrow.

We went to the pool after the yard work and I walked about 45 min in the pool.  VERY tiring.  We got some sun too.  Then KR took a short nap.  I rode the alleys.  NOTHING 

Friday 8/16/2024 H 84 L 66

 Today has been the warmest day so far this summer.

I was up about 6 but  the watch says I slept in until 6 30  NOPE

KR got up after I did.  We went down to the beach and walked Angel.  Then it was vacuum cleaning.  Oh, KR also cleaned most of the Roomba's yesterday.  Mary wanted one.  The vacuum today was the upright Sanitaire, that I got from Kelly that moved from Juniper street.  The bags and the new belt came today and it was hard work cleaning as the day was really hot.

I thought about going swimming but just could not get up the energy.

We picked alot of sapote's and posted them for free.  Many people came and got some.

KR also got more potting soil.  I went to Costco early and spoke with someone about  switching our phone lines to TMobile to get the free phone and Costco gift card too, but has to commit for 24 months.  Kurt said ok as he wanted a new phone.

I went for a bike ride in the afternoon.  Not much to be seen in the alley.

I defrosted spaghetti sauce for KR and made chicken noodles for Corrina and Kurt.

We were in bed by 9 15.  TIRED !!!!

Thursday WORKING

 I forgot to post.  Got to office 6 45.  Nick, the volunteer was there, so was the new extern, Lauren, who was a dental assistant before and was good.  Mary and I  were very busy.  I tested before work and was still VERY positive.

I coughed a bit.  Dizziness same.  Taking .25 am and maybe pm if I remember.

Got off work after 1, came home and KR just got back from the pool and said why don't you go so I did.  A  34 min walk about and came home.  Then at 3 30 I went for a bike ride too.

Boiled some chicken for dinner. 

Kurt worked most day.  Got home early.

Went to bed by 8 30, but got up pretty early

Wednnesday Office meeting via phone 8/14/2024 H 81 L 63

 Yup it was HOT today  Early I went to pick up Lovely's Curious George space man with a space ship, just off of 228th Place, close to  Christine's

Still coughing and having drippy nose.  KR took Angel to the Service Road and I stayed home and did laundry.  I had office meeting via phone 9 - 11.   Dr Sata ALSO HAS COVID  !!!!

After, KR did some yard work and I prepped for the carrot halwa that I  wanted to bake.  He got  a beer  plus some rib from Ralphs and marinated them.

He took a nap and I went running.  IT WAS SO HOT,  that took me 12 min per mile to run 3 miles and I was so sweaty.  I can imagine what Lovely is going through.  Kind of

I tried to figure out more of the sewing machine.  

KR had online Valor meeting at 3 30 - 4 45 and I baked the beets and carrot halwa.  Both were very good

KR found that his bees flew off and there were ants all over his  main hive, so he  is going to trying to get a new hive.  I  went to bed early.

Tuesday 8-13-2024

 Sun came out early.  I coughed yself awake all night but got a lot of sleep.  KR went to Bible Study and I made egg salad for their lunch.  I ordered a NEW sewing maching at Costco, after realizing that I CANNOT thread the needle any more on the older model machines WITHOUT that feature.  Oh well.  I donated the  beautiful WHITE machine with the cabinet that KR finished to ReStore and will be taking a tax deduction.

We went walking at the beach.  We went down towards the parking lot so we didn't have to talk to people.  I am still coughing and snotting.

KR went to FM and we got SO MUCH BEETS and ZUKS and basil and cantaloupe.  I juiced most of the  cantaloupe and some watermelon, and I then  I juiced some onion and some celery and some broccoli.  The taste was 'interesting' but my stomach burned.

I went for a bike ride all around the alleys.  NOTHING  to be had.

I also went  for a short run almost 14 min mile.  Just 1.8 miles

I  was in bed by 9

Monday 8/12/2024 H 79 L 65

 It was a hard night sleep, in the other room coughing.  Woke up and heard KR coughing so I made him take a test.  

KR IS POSITIVE FOR COVID TOO !!!!!

Oh  Man

So he does his Monday  morning group and we hang around and clean until Andrea  and Maribel comes.  We take Angel to the Fire Road and walk her.  I am coughing and snotting.

KR goes to the rental house and takes down the two dead trees.  We also stopped for bagels.  And for vacuum bags, but Walmart didn't have any, you have to order online now.

I took a LONG nap.  Felt like my eyes were bulgy and my head hurt.  I took two acylovir in the morning and at night.  They are antiviral so I figure they should help.  By evening, I was feeling a bit better.

Kurt had work but came home about 1 saying that several people have covid so they were all sent home.

SUNDAY and COVID again !!!! H 81 L 65

 I didn't sleep too well.  Coughing started and the nose starts running.  I should have known something was up as my cough  was pretty good for a couple of weeks and could not get the nose to stop.

Kurt and I do church at home.  I went running down the alleys 3  miles duration 35 min.  SLOW

I stretched while  watching church, and COUGH and COUGH

I also biked in the afternoon, found a great shelf and a tupperware for vege and stuff, I  had to drive back to get the shelf.

Corrina comes over and Kurt and she go to the beach.  Kurt tests and is negative.

I ride ovver to drop off some cabbage cakes for Christine, and decided to test.

POSITIVE FOR COVID

I did two tests.  Oh man,  no  wonder I was coughing all day.

Even the cough syrup did not help much.

KR gets home about 5 30.  Now I gotta sleep in the other room again.

Saturday Me and Kurt home KR Big Bear

 The day is nice, and we are home alone.  I did not walk Angel, as I was just not up to it.  I went biking at 9 15 and went all over the neighborhood.  Nothing to be seen.

I also drive to Anza to pick  up the Eufo vac, and  cleaned it and could not get it to work, so I ordered a battery  from EBay  and then will see if this is another vac I can keep.  It was filthy dirty but even after cleaning still says Error S1, battery problem.

Kurt goes to FM with me, and he is testing negative.  

BUT WE DON"T KNOW WHAT AWAITS

There is so much brussel sprouts and tomatoes I gave everything away and threw everything else in the green can.  So much food.

I was in bed by  9 30.

KR leaves early

So the sleep was not that great.  I kept on waking up thinking I need to pee but I didn't want to get up.  KR  was gone by 5 45 to Big Bear.  I got up soon after.  I did a load of laundry then to the appt with Dr Moy for botox and some filler.  Just one syringe and maybe 40 units of botox

I stopped at Costco, meant to get lychee juice, they didn't have any I bought Will a pair of shoes, and some kitty litter and some vegetables.

Kurt had work from 1  -    9  and he just had to hang around.  Easy job.

I cleaned the house.  Also had  David across the street come and help me load the sewing machine cabinet  and all and the  chair into  the car and I took it down to ReStore.  I will get tax credit.  I also   ordered a sewing machine from Costco.  I  cannot  handle the threading of the needle any more. 

The old Brother machine  that lasted 20 plus years had easy  threading.  I just can't see too well to do that.

Went  to  bed by 9 

Thursday and what an exhausting day of work 8/8/2024 H 78 L 66

 I didn't get up until 6 11 so I was scrambling to get out of the house for work.

It was BUSY, and I did not get done until almost 2 pm.  I was tired.

Will was my last patient at 11 30.  I had to do his filling on 19, he had  lost the large fill on the facial and there was decay.  He has a big tongue and the decalcification, and the limelight and all that.  Also he had to swallow many times.

I also did occlusal fill on 18 , with Limelight.  I  need to do a crown on 19 as the  filling is too large and he will lose it again.

GEEZ

There  was plaque everywhere.  I also placed SDF on 27/28/29 and 30

KR was home and had the fish cooked.  He had TRAK meeting tonight 6 - 9.  He is leaving tomorrow for Big Bear.

Kurt is STILL POSITIVE for COVID.  But he went to work all day.

He is suppose to be working 1 - 9 pm tomorrow.

He also took his car in to Caliber to have the front end done and the windshield too, I guess.

He slept all evening.

Wednesday but NO OFFICE MEETING

 So I changed the sheets and get ready and at the office by 9 with corn muffins and everything.  

HOWEVER, no one was getting ready for office meeting.  Well, duh, it is NEXT WEEK

I come home and we go to South Coast Botanical Garden  SOAR, the butterfly exhibit.  It was hot  and both KR and I had hip issues at the end of the walk.  It was nice to see all the butterflies though.

We took a nap, after lunch and then I did house work and KR did yard work.

We went to Norm's for dinner.  With Jaime Murray.

Bed was 8 15.  I am tired

Still about .25 am and .25 pm.  Not too good, dizzy and  nauseour

Tuesday Home Visit and Bible Study

 It was a busy day

I slept for NINE HOURS !!!!  KR first went to Bible Study and then took Angel for a walk.  I got everything ready for the home visit and on my way there I realized I FORGOT gloves.  I knew they would have some, so that was ok.

BUT I FORGOT  THE SYRINGE

Really?

Russell has Lewy Body Dementia and is bed bound, mostly.  He has no upper teeth and the lowers have so much tartar that the four anteriors were kind of stuck together.  I cleaned them a bit and decided that two teeth have to go.  I took out 24 and 25.  I used pontacaine topical only and he didn't really wiggle at all.

Cynthia gave me a check for 350.  I said it is 150 for home visit and then 100 each per tooth.

Came home and KR went to FM and got a LOT OF Squash, plus beets and some green beans.

We are the  queen and king of vegetables.   They all got picked up. 

I  cooked some for lunch.  KR had the left over dog from Sunday.  I  went for a bike ride and got some bricks.  Someone on BNT wanted it.

We went to half hour of National Night Out and spoke with several cops about the eBike issues.

Then it  was Bible Study.   We had Karl, and Pam and Cristian and  Anita and George and me and KR

We served cheese and crackers and fruit.  Sumi brought over corn muffins and lots of other food.

Monday and I gotta work H 81 L 62

 I   had 8  hours of sleep with score 90.  

Kurt  is still positive.  He i s going to work 

I worked from 9 -  3.  

Sunday Community Meal at church COVID Kurt caught it again

 So I am starting .25 am and .25 pm, but does not  seem to make too much difference yet.

We went down to the beach to walk Angel.  KR has church first and me and Kurt drive.  Then he says he is not feeling well. 

KURT HAS COVID AGAIN !!!  He says Amanda and Dillon has it and they were with them at In- N - Out burger so he is sick.  We didn't have any unexpired tests so I go to Walgreen to get some more under mom's name.  VERY  HELPFUL   Of course Kurt tests positive.

He is going to work with a n95 and hand sanitizer.  GOOD FOR HIM

We  had community meal and bratwurst.  I am getting fat again.  Usually about 109 in the morning but Monday was 112  DANG 

We were in bed by  9.  Not  even watching the Olympics

Corrina came by for some tests.  I picked some up from Kila.

Saturday H 77 L 62

 It  was an easy day.  Dizzy and nauseous but hardly any coughing and spitting.

KR took Angel and me out and we went to  the beach  and took the cat box to Charity.

He cleaned the leavees off the yard and then to FM and then to the beach with Kurt.  They had a nice time swimming  I sat outside.  It was HOT

I took a LONG NAP and so did KR.  Don't know why I can sleep so much now in the middle of the day.

We had left over steak and potatoes for dinner. Kurt went up to Corrina's to walk Olive.  He, jup Olive is a he and Angel went for a walk and Olive kept wanting to mount Angel and she didn't want to have any of that.

Will text me that his tooth, probably 19 hurts.  Yup, first time he wants to get into the office.  I scheduled him for Monday 12 15 just to see what the problem is.

Easy Friday AUGUST ALREADY !!! 8/2/2-24 H 78 L 63

 I had to get up three times to pee last night, so the sleep score was not that great.  79

KR took Angel for a walk Service Road.  I cleaned the garage and took stuff to mom's garage.  Kurt went to work.  KR had lunch with his friends, Howard and Danny, both of which have not so ideal marriages.

I went running.  5K I thought pretty fast, like under 10 min mile, but turns out about 11 min mile.  Jeez so slow   It was hot too.

Went to my GI doc appt at Skypark.  Scheduled for endoscopy next month.

KR went swimming after lunch and then we took a nap.  I was ASLEEP FOR AN HOUR AND HALF

Kurt came home saying they had free food today so he brought his food home.  Steak etc that I will eat tomorrow.

We did not even watch Olympics.  Alan is in Brazil having a good old time.

Wee were in bed by 9

I scheduled a home visit with a patient of Dr Kelliny to extract some teeth, next week.

Thursday work day 8/1/2024 H 73 L 61

 It was an early day, of course as it is work day

Day started with Karina Chavez.  She could not have me do any crowns yet, as she cannot make up her mind about PUD, so I did two fillings.  #2, and 15

It was fast day and I got off about 12 40.  When I got home, KR was still home, he was going to go to the beach to swim.  The day was cloudy all day, and we got a drop or two of rain, that is it.  

We went riding around in the alleys, didn't find anything.  Then we went to the jacuzzi and KR did some pool exercise and then we went to Norm's for dinner.  We got steaks and it was fab.  

Kurt worked all day and we brought home left over.  

KR went to visit Doug B at TMMC
