Had such a bad night sleep, with my coughing and sinus issues, and the electricity went out in the middle of the night. I had the A/C on most night, til KR thought it was too cold and turned it off. He got up early for a surf session and I slept in, kind of. Drank four cups of coffee for breakfast and went on a walk/run to the river mouth. It was pretty hot already at 9 am. Today's high was 90 and tomorrow will be about the same with the low about 75. VERY warm. I had a couple of bananas and brought two for KR so he can eat and go back to surf. He finally came in at about noon, and we drove to the supermarket and bought a whole chicken, some bread, soda, and 2 apples. Everyone here use the dollars, too. You just pay in dollars and they will give you colones back. What a country.
After lunch, of whole chicken, Costco style, at the hotel upstairs, we took a nice long nap. Then we walked to the turtle preserve, except they were just closing, and the tours are full tonight and tomorrow, so we don't think we will be watching the turtles any time soon. We sat and watched the sunset. Oh, wait, we walked to the rocks to the north of the beach and there were lots of fishes stuck in tide pools, and KR found one of those that sit on the rock outside the water, like what we saw in Nicaragua years ago. Kurt said that they didn't leave til about 1 30 pm, as Bobs didn't start packing til that morning. hahaha
Dinner was downstairs at the El Marejada. Gail told us that we have to move tomorrow as we did not tell her that we were staying more than 2 nights, I forgot, and she is sold out for the weekend. Oh well. We looked at Playa Grande Inn next door and will move there. We decided to do the Salvatura Canope Tour on Monday morning, so we will drive out there after Sunday's session and then tour Monday and then the coffee plantation tour Monday afternoon, and drive into San Jose early Tuesday morning. Each segment will probably take us about 3 hours.
Our time here is interesting, slow, nothing moves too fast, and it is hot. But I did not get sunburnt, even used the 30 sunscreen all over me. We also stopped at the farmacia for some codeine pills and detromethorphan for my sinus. The Costa Rica version tastes nasty, and I have not tried the codeine pills. Total cost was very expensive, about 20 dollars. The groceries costs about 20 today too. We will try to minimize our expenses as our cash is running low.
KR had a great surf session today. It was pretty good shape, and the high tide was about 9, and hope tomorrow the same.
