Was suppose to meet Will at 6 45 at the office for x rays. He texts about 7 that he stayed up too late. What a jerk. I went to El Super and bought 68 dollars worth of food. I cooked the roast, and some chicken and banana and spaghetti squash.
KR and I went to New Horizon and did a little workout.
Kurt had work, Instacart 11 - 3 or 4. Rained last night, very lightly and was dry by noon today.
I made blended soup with the squash, and had a great meal. Still dizzy. But no work today.

Wednesday
I get up early and go to yoga. It feels a bit dizzy but I managed. Suppose to rain later tonight.
Pops go to beach and walk the dog.
We then weed the enchanted garden. I think the up and down of weeding got me really dizzy. Went for a quick visit to Adele's. Drank tea and had lox and bagel and cream cheese. Harry came home.
Kurt had school only til almost 1, but it was club week so he tried to drum up some business for the hiking club. He came home about 3.
We have dinner and Alina calls and said that Chanel Wiederkehr got a letter from CDA and they are investigating her about some implant that got cemented incorrectly. I spent 45 minutes talking to her. So glad I am not associating with that woman. Chanel is really a piece of work.
Went to bed early.

Post Op and taking it easy
So I wake up and the world is crystal clear. No pain, and no weeping
KR has bible study, and I do the laundry.. He comes home and we go take the dog for a walk down at the beach. Nice weather, warmer than it has been.
We stopped at Ralphs and boy has the cost of food gone up. He goes to farmer's market and I stay home. We both take a nap, and post op. Per Dr Maher, there is still a little bit of cataract left as it was pretty stubborn and he didn't want to tear the lens sac so he left it. He said my vision might be a bit cloudy in 3 - 4 months an he can do the lasik surgery to remove the cloudiness, but not yet. I am to use the eye drops 4 times a day. In and Out quick. I like him very much.
KR cooked the pork ribs and we have dinner. Kurt says he has work 11 - 3, then to 4, and 5 - 7. Let's hope he makes some money.
It will be cloudy the next few days.

THE CATARACT SURGERY
So if it is Monday, it is SURGERY DAY
I had a pretty good sleep, waking up for the usual pee, and since I had to be there about 6 15, KR got up early and I could not go back to sleep. He got me there by 6 05 and I should have stayed home and gotten to the SurgiCenter at 6 45. It was just hurry up and wait.
So I sign all kinds of consent, and then they wanted me to sign the anesthesia consent and I said, WAIT, I am NOT having sedation. So it was back and forth, and I was put in the round house area where all of them wait for surgery. A little cap on my head, and slipper bags on my feet and warm blanket on me. Two as a matter of fact. I had a cup of coffee before I came, but I didn't tell them.
I also was doing my usual coughing so I took half a tab of benedryl before the surgery, didn't want to have a cough during the procedure. They finally wheeled me in about 7 45 !!!!
So there is velcro on both wrists so I cannot try to scratch. They taped my forehead so I won't move, not the velcro type, like we use in pedo dentistry. Then it was a sterile drape over the face, with positive oxygen pressure over a mask under the drape so I guess as to give you some air. One could really breathe without that, but I suppose some patients found the drape too "not enough air" so they do that. Then the bright lights came on.
All I could see was this great bright light, surrounded by dark, then it was red and blue lights around the bright light. There were lots of anesthetic being applied to my eyeball I am sure, and the incision just feels like pressure when Dr Maher inserted the diamond blade into the lens area and used the "phacoemulcification" machine to vibrate and breakup the lens and suction it out. Sort of like the cavitron machine we use to break up the calculus on the teeth.
Then he inserts the IOL into the original lens space, and rinse and rinse. The machine makes this weird noise, and kind of like moaning, and also has vacuum sound, I think, as I read the mechanics of the machine. So very interesting. They used to just cut the thing out and of course the cut needs to be sutured, and the lens has to be removed in one piece. WOW, sort of glad I didn't read up too much on this earlier.
So after the surgery, they put this large patch over the eye, and wheel you out. Kurt was there in no time flat and I got out about 8 35 and came home to rest. KR actually arrived home the same time I did. There was some headache, and some eye itching, or feels like there is some sand. If I don't blink with the right eye, it feels better.
I took the patch off a little bit. Before the surgery, if I sit in the garage, I cannot see the sign 226th Street / Felbar Street, at all, not just the letters. Well, I could see the sign, and the numbers with the right eye. So, I think I should have had this done YEARS AGO !!!! THANK YOU DR OLINGER.
Tomorrow is no trabajo, and I have post op at 1 45. KR will drive me. I could hardly wait to see what I CAN SEE !!!!!!!
Everyone has been praying. THANK YOU ALL
I had half a BLT, and Kurt took the other half.
Will came over for some food, and he got his car smogged, finally. He tried to get Medi-Cal, but the line was too long.
What a day !!

Sunday at the Snow
KR takes Matthew, Kurt, Corrina and Gracie to the snow. I stay home. Still dizzy so I don't go. They leave at 8 15, and spent most day at Mount Baldy. I do laundry, and clean the house, and generally stay busy, sat outside for about an hour listening to my book, still dizzy.
Will says he is really appreciative of being bailed out, and he will pay the money back. I spoke with Eliot and he has some ideas.
They come home about 3 and I go to the YMCA for my class. The day is a bit warmer and they had a great time, in the snow, and it was not that cold. KR says there were so many people driving up to the hill that the cops had to try to direct the traffic, people were all trying to play in the snow.
They ate the burgers I cooked and I eat some ribs that I cook.
We watched a little bit of Oscar and ready for bed.
Tomorrow is cataract surgery !!!!!!!!

Bailing Will Out and Working
So we get up, actually Will wakes me up calling from Jail. He says he does not know what is going on, then why is he calling? We go to work, at His Nesting Place in Long Beach. We took Will's car key so we can possibly drive his car back so it does not get towed.
The trailer seems to be only on three jacks so any time someone walks in it rocks. I was so dizzy the whole day, but carried on working anyway. I call Sue Lopez at 8 and got her to send Matt, her worker down to Long Beach to bail Will out. The bail is 50,000 and so we have to come up with 5000, but Sue charged on 6% so we are out of 3000. Matt gets the info and goes down to Long Beach jail to bail him out.
Matt says that it would take 1 - 3 hours before Will is out BUT Will calls 20 minutes later and says he is out. I asked him to walk four miles to his car, but Diamond (his girlfriend) sent him an Uber and he drives back to Grandma's where he is staying. We work till about 2, and come home and nap, then church with Kurt. He worked Instacart 9 - 4. We go to church and then I came home early to sleep while Kurt and Pops went to Sam's for groceries.

Still ROLLING......
Can't understand why I need more than TEN HOURS OF SLEEP !!!! I made it to yoga at 8 and was dizzy dizzy. Came home and cooked cauliflower, brocc, carrots and one tomato !!!! KR went to the Korean store after walking Gracie. Went to our car appt at Toyota, and was still dizzy. We walked Gracie on Airport Road, and finally one and half hour later, car was ready.
Came home for cooked vege and burger. Sat outside for over an hour. Was a beautiful and cold day, but in front of the garage, it is very nice. Then went up for nap. I was asleep in no time flat. MORE SLEEP !!! Will says his girlfriend, Diamond is not feeling well, something about a kidney infection. He and Kurt are going to his old apartment and getting some stuff, and bringing the bed back. Teresa, Ronnie's daughter would like it. I picked up some slats from the neighbor down the street for her. She is living with Ronnie for a few months, I think.
We have bible study and will be going to Del Taco for dinner, again !!!
Kurt goes down to Long Beach to try to pick up the red bed frame and some of Will's stuff Then after awhile Kurt texts and says Will is not answering, and I try to text Will and no go and then another hour later, Will calls from JAIL !!!! HE HAS BEEN ARRESTED !!!!!! Nothing I can do at Bible study, so we go on and ask for prayers.........
oh boy oh boy, so he is the number two boy to be arrested, first Tyler and now Will, both for domestic violence............

If it is Thursday, it must be work day
Even though I had a good night sleep, I still feel sleepy. When am I not going to be feeling like that when I wake up? Jet lag from east or west it does not matter. Maybe just the numbers of time zone matter? So back from Turkey I am awake at 3 or 4, but now still sleepy at 8 sometimes.
I got to work early, and there was something going on with the cleaning crew and the alarm. My first patient was Marjorie, and crown prep #3. Working on someone you know is always hard, as you are trying to do a good job, and just takes forever. Finally.
Then I had several pain in the rear, what I call PITA patients. Emily, who is 11, and just getting some sealants, for goodness sake, just winged, and cried, and threw a general fit!!!!!!! But we finally managed.
Then Regina called and said Will would like me to work Thursdays, till they find someone. I text her back but never heard from her so I sent Will a text. I also text Patty and Nikky to see if they want to work.
KR walked the dog and I ran on the sand. It was so so windy and cold.
Kurt did NOT MUCH today, no school, taking only 9 units..........
Will text that he needs a place to live, something about his roommate going psycho and he had to leave. Wow, from cussing us out to asking for a place to live. So he came over and we gave him a key to grandma's and he went. Man oh man, how things change.

Tuesday
KR goes to his Bible Study. Then we go walk the dog, after which we locked the dog in the car and we ran. From Ave I to Topaz Jetty. I was pretty slow. Then I had to go to work.
Monika crown prep. Cathy helped me. She is so nice. I am really dizzy today.
Came home and sat in the sun for over an hour. KR went to the farmers market and there is all kinds of cauliflower and broccoli and stuff. I cook a lot of it with some pork. Gonna be a good dinner.
Wish this dizziness would go away.

New Week
KR goes to his ear appt, to see what is what. Good news, he has another post op in two weeks and if everything looks good, as it did today, he can get in the water. The Red Robbin tube got removed and the steri-strips got removed and just a little bandaid in the back of the ear. He took my car and I drove to Louie's with his car.
Louie told me to be real careful with Dr Will Weston. Apparently he does not pay Louie's bill, the outstanding amount was over 7 thousand dollars and Will paid $2600 !!!! Wow, what a guy. So sorry I am working for him now.
Sigh
Kurt has no school, this being President's Day. Ethan comes over for tutoring. I really like that kid.
I made an appt to see Robert Babb, regarding Will's texts. The appt was for 4 30 - 5 30. We had taco salad for dinner. KR cooked. Kurt even ate with us. I went to bed early.

Sunday day of rest?
Sunday is always washing sheets day. Very windy. Rained very little, barely wet the grounds. Kurt gets off to Church on the Beach. KR and I went walking the dog, and I ran on the sand. I like it very much, very little pain in the hip, and sand firm from all the rain, so pretty easy.
KR weed whack the yard, and the bees stung him twice, even with a suit. Diane and Eliot came to visit, and KR and Eliot had a cup of coffee. They have two offers on the house, so they are happy, hopefully in 45 days will close.
I took a nap. The dizziness got a little worse, with some nausea, so I slept. Then KR took Gracie for another walk and I went to the Y, exercise class, jacuzzi and the steam room, sauna. Felt much better. Kurt went to pick up Rocky and Grace from the airport. Making a little money.

Saturday
It is cold and we go to the beach for a walk with the dog. I run on the sand and not hurting. Starting at Burnout and all the way to Rat. Pretty slow, but steady. Think I can do this some more, on the sand that is. We come home and I go to Cindy's for the cookies I left last night. BOY OH BOY was I dizzy when I got home. The bike ride simulated the boat ride, again, and I was not well.
KR goes to see Matthew's game, and Mary comes over and we make enchiladas. We eat some, the garage is nice and warm, and she goes home, and I tried to take a nap. Corrina comes over and she and Kurt watches some movie.
We go to church and then to Danielle and Gilbert's for Katie's 10th birthday party. What a party. They always throw the best party.
Still dizzy, goes to bed.... Will is on a rant again........

Friday, day of rest
Well, the dizziness is still around. We spent a good part of the morning cleaning the coop area. The door KR put on is a little off so he had to take down the hinge, and I wanted to take the mesh off the bottom so they can dust bath, now that there is no more DUCK and has not been here for years, and this year so much rain, they would love to have a DRY place to bath. Then I got a new tarp for the top of the coop, since the old brown tarp was getting holes and leaky. That all was very dusty and the chickens of course were not amused.
I tried to nap, but was not too successful.
KR went to his preop for colonoscopy appt and the date is set for Tuesday, March 5. Yikes.
Then he took another nap, and after, we went to the Valentines' Dinner at Tony and Cindy's. They are so so sweet, the food so good, and I got dizzier and dizzier and we came home and I went to bed pretty quick, and slept while dreaming about driving a truck with the driving mechanism like 14 feet or more above the truck, and got in trouble got the truck in some water and was trying to get the water out with a hose that looked like the trunk of an elephant. Oh my
Lovely is doing her 12 hour run, and I can barely do two.

If it is Thursday, I have to work.....
I thought I was going to be early, but no, only 5 minutes early, and it was raining cats and dogs. I am tired of this rain, although not too heavy, just steady, except by the office, it was just buckets and buckets. Some of my patients no showed, and we worked steady til almost 1.
I met KR at Del Taco and our valentine lunch, was a little over 7 dollars. We had buy one get one taco plate, and buy one get one taco, and free tacos. So we had a lot of food to bring home for Kurt. I brought the battery candle from Turkey Airline, and KR brought my balloons. And I brought several cookies that someone brought in for V day.
After lunch, KR took a nap and I ran to the bank. More like shuffle to the bank, very slow. Hip hurts, knee hurts and all over hurts. Deposited the pay check and limped home.
I cooked kalbi ribs and KR cooked rice. I could not find Lucy when I went to close the coop, and just before pitch dark, I searched again, and she came out somewhere. I am so glad she is not missing. I sure like my hens, still, after all these years.
Kurt did not have school today, brought some present or other to Corrina.

Wednesday
Since it was going to rain, the temp last night was pretty warm, so I did not 'boil the rock' for the girls. KR had placed new board for the 'tool shed' and a new door for the girls coop.
We went for a walk at the fire road, and it was nice to be out. I also went to the 6 am yoga, didn't feel too dizzy. HOPING it is going away. PRAYING TOO. Kurt went to school, and it started raining. KR went up on the roof and tried to bang the rest of the shingles up to patch the roof and hopefully the master rain coming tonight won't cause another leak.
Then it was doing not much all day, as the weather was cold and I got a lot of stuff filed and put away. Kurt came home early, at least we thought so, and he cooked the steaks and instant mashed potatoes. I have a work tomorrow and it is Valentine's Day. We might go to Del Taco to eat free food. hahaha I went to bed early, but had to pee THREE TIMES....... geez the joy of old bladder..............

We might go to Del Taco to eat free food. hahaha I went to bed early, but had to pee THREE TIMES....... geez the joy of old bladder..............
Tuesday 2/12/19
Mom had the cough and Lovely finally bought some medicine, the cough syrup with codeine. Mom is in the hyper stage and continues to talk and talk and talk, and her voice was hoarse and she got sick. I pray that Lovely and Alan and gang can practice patience, and I know that is really difficult with mom, now, as she does not listen and she won't behave, and can't remember that she didn't behave. I will try to convince her to stay here in August and go back with Alan.
Tuesday dawns clear, no rain, till tomorrow. I only have one patient, Sean Ferris, and he did not get his lingual arch wire removed. Monika has an appt with Erik Singer today also. I cleaned his teeth, and went to the store, bought a lot of bacon, 1 50 each, cheap, and came home and cooked. I got a bit nauseous so went to sleep a bit.
KR is feeling much much better, not much leaking and no pain. He went to his Oswald group this morning. It was so cold that I turned on the heat. Kurt went to school, tried to get into classes. I had continue education class in Marina Del Rey and it was on something like reducing your overhead. I left after the initial lecture before the Q&A. Maribel and Tracy and Marjorie were there. I have never been to Whiskey Red's and it was on the water front, by the LA docks.
I got to bed pretty quick. Oh, also stopped at the 99 cent store before i came home.

2/11/19
Still dizzy.
Tried to get up for the yoga class but don't think I can do downward facing dog.
So I slept in till at least 7. Kurt went to school hoping to get classes.
KR went to Chris' for the Monday morning prayer group.
I finished all the notes for the trip, and balanced the books, and paid bills.
Jesse called, Abby has a small piece of root they think, so they came over for a look see and I just wiped the root off and we went to Seafood Town for lunch. YUM We stayed out on the garage near the door, pretty warm, then KR went and had a long two hour nap.
I ran about 1.5 mile, just the alleys. And not much more, bed at 7 20 pm. Still dizzy.

The Saga of the Ear Operation and week of Feb 4-10
So Monday, 2/4 I am dizzy dizzy. Cannot do anything, stayed in bed most day, til about 3. KR is swelling more, so he calls Curt Lee for appt so he can get the preop done in case House Ear Clinic can move him up. I take his Wed app. for my preop for cataract surgery scheduled on the 25.
Tuesday I had to work at Will's. First day with Dr Weston. I am suppose to prep Monica Olmos #3, but with my dizziness??? God is so good. She comes with this little abscess and I just clean her teeth. Will's office is very nice, the office manager Regina is super. Referred her to Erik Singer's office as that is who Will likes to refer. Then I see Kimel, and he is always a dream to see. He and Joe are going to Spain around May. Tuesday night I tried I/D and only got blood.
Tuesday afternoon John and Samara Macy arrive from Brazil and Switzerland to see the elder Macy's and borrow our car. It was raining, and will rain again. I am still dizzy.
Wednesday KR swells more and says I cannot do this and drives up to House which they schedule his appt for surgery with Dr Brockman who he has seen before but didn't really like. So we prep for his up coming event!!!! Dr House tried I/D and only got blood !!!!!
Thursday Bill Johnson picks him up at 7 45. I had work 7-1 so I left before. The surgeon calls at 2:47 to say that all is well, and he can be picked up. I get him at 5 and got him home by 7, and he looks like Princess Leah with a 'unibun'. He took a Norco at hospital and slept pretty well, after eating. We send out general call out for help, and Donna brought food, and Carole brought food, the church folks are so so sweet.
Friday KR is really swollen. But no pain, and the weather is so so cold There was frost on the roof for hours. Friday night I took the dressing off and the Red Robbin tube is too long I cut about 2 cm off.
Saturday we just hung out at home, and go to church. I am still dizzy and KR is recovering. Carole bring the famous tetrazzine with vege and fruit cups. Oh wow.
Sunday it rained a little, and Kurt goes to main campus. Even though it was forecasted to rain, the rain stopped by 8 but Dan had already cancelled Church on the Beach so Kurt had to go to main campus. I do more laundry and is still dizzy. KR walks the dog, and I go to the exercise class and then to the sauna and steam room and jacuzzi. I cooked some beef short ribs

On the way home
So we all arrive at the airport in Singapore. The disembarkation was pretty easy, and we pushed mom with the wheelchair from the dock to the MRT and took it to the airport. What an organized city, where the transit goes to airport and the Skytrain moves you from one terminal to another.
They checked in and I got a cup of Starbuck coffee, and Lovely, and them tried to spend the rest of the money from the MRT tap card. Then it was off for the gang. Wont see mom again til July !
We checked into the SAT lounge in which Philippines airlines has privilege and it was pretty nice food and set up. Four kinds of wine and three hard liquor. Little did we know.
We get on board business of Philippine, looks promising. After a good meal, we took a nap. The transit at Manilla airport was a mess. The airport was dingy and not so clean. The lounge? We thought or I thought it was their FLAGSHIP lounge would be very very nice. Very disappointing. One shower, and I had to wait in line, and the food, no bueno.
We boarded sooner than I thought, which I thought was a four hour lay over, it was 2.5 They served food, but it was slow in coming. After the meal, we both slept. KR ear still hurts.
The immigration with Global Entry was Fast Fast and Fast, but the luggage took over 40 minutes to arrive. IT WAS SO NICE TO BE HOME !!!!!!!!!!

Saturday Sea Day
2/2/19
KR and I went to the exercise room. Took mom to brekkie and then we asked Lovely to watch mom. KR said we have had mom for 10 days and wanted to be by ourselves for a bit. We went to the rear deck pool and swam a bit. It started to rain so we had Alfredo's pizza and then I tried Speed Painting, which I just painted dead things, like a shark eating someone.
Then we watched a bit of Jurassic Park in the room.
Abby got in trouble about something and Lovely took her phone away. Lovely says she needs to repent. Later I found out she lost her phone, the iPhone 6 I sold her and the cover Uncle Jesse gave her, in the ocean on the tender on the way back from (which port?). We all had the last night dinner in the dining room together.
I changed the gratuity thing to 10 dollars a day, and was giving Lamberto these folded oragami dollar bill, except they were 2 dollar bills, and a 20 and some 5's I think. Lovely just gave Victoria and Slavik, our servers cash the tonight at the last dinner, as tomorrow we will be going home.
It has been a wonderful trip, although I was dizzy a lot.

Friday February 1, 2019
If it is Friday, it must be Phuket.
We didn't get the tender ticket early enough so we didn't get off the boat till 1, even tho we docked about 10 15. We had group 222, so had to wait about an hour, so all the tour groups went off, so we had lunch at Alfredo's. The tender was about 17 minutes from the boat to the dock of Puuket, which is half hour south of Phuket City and about 50 minutes away from the more tourists beaches.
We hired a 10 seater van and drove to Karon beach where we swam a bit, and then to Kata where I swam again and the rest of the gang went shopping, except mom. She sat on the wheelchair, near the edge of the beach in the shade. I used the snorkel and there were some nice fish not like Karon.
We then went to Chillva Market and the traffic was bad bad bad. A lot of two lane highways. Before Chillva we had some shaved ice and Singapore noodles. The market had some interesting food and we should have eaten here.
KR wanted to find a massage place, but Lovely wanted to shop, and we could not find any massage near the market and KR was a bit upset. After we came back to the boat we put mom to bed and went to eat. We had surf and shrimp, and Lovely and gang came to eat too. We went to bed as they stayed up to play again.

Thursday Penang, Malaysia 1/31/19
We didn't arrive in Penang til about 3 pm. KR worked out at the gym and we had more more and more brekkie. We also played shuffleboard. Lunch was Mexican fiesta, and carving leg of pork.
I had contact Nancy Lim, who is from Penang and she recommended Rishi, a long story, and he had a driver waiting for us Jonathan, who was very very good. We had a 10 person van and drove all around Penang. The Lee clan jetty, the Sleeping Buddha, Penang Hill, street art. We even saw monkeys on the side of the road eating oranges and other food people dropped off.
We had shaved ice and Singpore Bee Hone at Tanjung Bungah Food Court. KR finally got some carrot juice. Then it was back on the boat.

Wednesday back at Singapore
1/29/19
We didn't get off the ship til late as Lovely and gang did not get up. They always have late night and we have early morning. We took the MRT and went to the Merlion. I finally realized that it is a combo of Mermaid and Lion. HAHAHAHAH
Then it was MRT to the city center and then LIttle India, where it was packed and we didn't have much time so we walked around a little and went back on the ship. We celebrated mom's birthday early, with Happy Birthday, Blues Clues sign and mom wore the crown, and she was so happy.
The headwaiter, Francoise had half of the wait staff come and sing. We drank two bottles, one of champagne and one of Moscoto. After mom went to bed we watched Stevie Wonder impersonator and I thought he was really good. KR and I went dancing at Club Fusion, and then we watched Lovely sing karaoke and she was really really bad at John Denver. We went to bed, and they were off doing something, maybe the midnight buffet.

Tuesday Sea Day, 1/29/19
Tuesday was Sea Day so after brekkie, we went to see the Chef's Show and the tour of the galley. Very impressive how they cook everything. Cruise Director Marcus is a really good director.
Lunch was sushi and carving of roast beef. Wow, we had not seen that before and of course everyone ate and ate and ate.
THEN IT WAS DANCING WITH THE STAFF.
So me and Lovely and Isaiah all joined. Each Cruiser is paired with a professional dancer, either the dancer or staff. I got Adam, and after five rounds, WE WON !!!!
I could not believe how we won and got a bottle of champagne.

Monday - Saigon
It was a great day Monday, 1/28/19. We arrived in Saigon with much anticipation of seeing James. We ate breakfast and went to the shuttle that took us to the port gate. James was there waiting with Vincent, and a driver name Kfois, or something like that.
We drove into Saigon and the traffic, wow oh man, wow, so so bad. We drove to the cathedral, Notre Dame, and the Post Office that looks like an old train station, next door where Abby bought souvenirs. Then it was to lunch. We went to the famous Ngon Restaurant where James said it is hard to get a reservation. Food was NOT ENOUGH, after what we have been having on the ship.
James then took us shopping for coffee, at HIS grocery store, near his house. We bought a lot of coffee. And then we went to his apartment, where he pays 1200 US dollars a month, and the cleaning lady does his laundry, cleans the house, and all for that little money, two bedrooms. Why does he need that much room???? Vincent went to work. He works at a hotel, English pretty good. We also went to the hotel where he works, the downstairs lobby was so impressive, with mother of pearl walls, etc.
We got back on the boat to eat dinner. Mom really liked having James around. Held his hand the whole trip in the van. We ate too much again. The show was this opera singer. It was ok. We went to bed, while the Alagata's once again, went gallivanting around.

Sunday
Sunday 1/27/19 dawns bright. We all met at church service at Club Fusion. Then we ate breakfast. Even though it was sea day still had so much food. NOT ME. I was seasick yesterday with the boat at the dock (dinner time). I thought the ship had started moving, NO NO NO !!!!
I took mom to the pool deck at level 14, and told her not to move, and then she was GONE !!!!! I looked for her all over and finally went to guest services and no mom. Finally KR went back up to 14 and she was about 10 feet from where I left her. She said she went looking for me.
We went to the aft pool as it was too noisy at the pool by the theatre. Alan went to have pizza and I took mom down there at Alfredo's and she ate with Alan. KR and I sat outside and swam a bit and then we met mom at our room and she had a nap. We sat on our deck and Lovely finished laundry. Three dollars a load, wash or dry.
We went to the photo raffle. We didn't win. We went to see alan play basketball, 3 x 3, and they had a good time. Of course, dinner was too much food. I have not gained any weight yet.

Saturday, Laem Chagang, Thailand 1/26/19
After sailing all night, we arrived at Laem Chagang, which is in the southern part of Thailand. Bangkok is at least two hours away, and we didn't get started early enough which is ok because we had to eat brekkie so we decided the best place we can go was Pattaya, so I went back to the boat for my bathing suit and we took the cruise shuttle to Pattaya.
The large bus dropped us off at the Bay View Hotel and we walked to the beach through the lobby. Wow what a beach. There were many pontoons out on the ocean where you can parasail and other kinds of water sports. I mean it was so so buys, I have never seen a beach and the ocean off the beach like that.
I actually went swimming, and the water was pretty warm. It also smelled like FISH SAUCE !!!! No kidding, the beach water smells like what you could buy here to fertilize the grass/shrubs, or the fish sauce you use to cook. And it was not clean, at least visibility was bad bad bad. Lovely and KR went to look for CiproDex, no go. I also forgot to bring KR's bathing suit, so I went to buy a pair and got a Under Armour pair and he refused to wear it so I gave to Isaiah.
Abby and Isaiah went shopping with Lovely. KR and I found a tank top for Kurt but they would not take US dollars. Things were cheap cheap and cheap.
They they decided to get a massage, so KR, Alan and I took mom back. The traffic was getting bad already. I could imagine what traffic in Bangkok is like. We got mom to take a nap and we went swimming, as it was so hot and sticky.
Dinner was amazing sufr and tur, filet mignon and giant prawns.
We ate so much.
Then it was the snow with Nate and Yuri, the muscle man and the lady with the hoola hoops. After we went to bed they went dancing.

Firday - Ko Samui
We dock at a mooring, at Ko Samui as there is no port big enough that can handle the boat and passengers. We tendered to the dock and walked with mom in wheelchair all over town.
It was hot and muggy and I really liked the weather. Alan, KR and Abby and Isaiah went to the beach via taxi for a swim. Me, Lovely and mom went to the market, and then for a fab foot massage. An hour for 199 baht which is about 7 dollars.
Then we tendered back and had dinner and a show. It was "Let Us Entertain You'. We went to bed after the show and the gang went to Hollywood Game. They sure have more energy than we do.
We also tried buying more antibiotics as KR started taking the amoxicillin, then Augmentin, and the one pill of the ZPak, as his ear really hurts.

Thursday, a day at sea 1/24/19
We got up to all you can eat brekkie and so much food. Mom wanted to eat everything. We tried to find Lovely and the gang via the Princess WiFi but was hard to get them, as they were all over doing games and trivia and basketball 3X3. KR went to exercise room first and then I did and then we told mom to take a nap and we went to the pool for awhile. Dinner was formal and KR didn't have a long sleeve shirt so he had to go to Alan's room to get Alan's jacket.
After dinner we saw the show, "So You Wanna Dance". After we went to bed, Lovely and the gang went dancing and stuff.

Wednesday, Changi Airport
It was early Wednesday, like 3 am on 1/23/19 that we arrived at the airport. We got WiFi to figure out what public transportation to take to the cruise terminal, and then McDonald's for brekkie, except KR had a burrito. Alan had the big breakfast and I had six cups of coffee. THen it was MRT to the boat. We changed money and bought MRT cards for 12 Singapore dollars each, five dollars for the card and seven dollars fare.
Singapore airport is so so nice, with fresh flowers, orchids, orange trees (dwarf version) and all over the airport in nice displays, with the pig, as this is the year of the pig. We decided to go to the boat to drop off the luggage, thinking that we would have to pay for temporary storage, but NO NO NO, the people were ready to take our luggage.
We went back to the MRT and rode into town to see Garden by the Bay. It was really pretty and we went to the really tall three giant structures tied together at the top with an infinity pool that Abby said was in the movie, Crazy Rich Asian. We had food in the big giant mall at the food court. I had Indonesian chicken. Then we went to another mall across the water to find some wine from a grocery store.
By the time we checked into the boat, immigration, and all, my back was so so sore. I had to lay down and so did mom, and KR's ear was so sore, we just napped. Then it was dinner. It was so so yummy. They, the Alagata's stayed up to do all kinds of stuff and we went to bed.

Still light rain, we hung around the house and Lovely and I go and get brekkie. KR gets a burger like sandwich, we drove to Daxi which is another kind of old town, where the architecture had a lot of buildings that dated to the Japanese occupation time, and there was a preserved Japanese school. It was close to the Taoyuen airport. We walked around, had red custard pie, walked over the walking bridge, and tried to find a place for lunch finally went to Carrefour for lunch at food court.
KR and I took an hour nap while Lovely packed. The driver came for us for the airport. We were way too early again.
The flight was packed, but before we took off, KR found me a three seat section and I slept most of the way of this four hour flight. They other clan sat away from us.

Lovely and I got brekkie at the soy bean milk place. Alan and Isaiah and KR watched the Chiefs vs Patriots online and Patriots won in over time. After brekkie, in the rain, we went to Cat Town, where the old mining town was. Then it was Shifen water fall and Old Town, where the tourists can write on lanterns and set them floating in the air. But I thought too much plastic waste and didn't want to do it.
The train actually comes through the middle of this town, and both sides of the track there are shops, stalls for eating, souvenir shops, and miscellaneous. So when the train comes through everyone clears off the track (where the lanterns are launched) and then move back on the tracks when it is passed. Would never work in the states, too much OSHA, etc regulations.
We had a wonderful lunch of fried oyster, egg, more beef noodle soup, and all while rain misted down. We tried to get Abby and Isaiah to their dental appts but we were late so the dentist didn't see them.
KR and I napped for about an hour, we were exhausted.
Then it was to SHILIN night market !!!!
We lined up for this giant flat fried chicken, clams in broth and all kinds of stuff. We picked up Vikki before and Isaiah and Vikki stayed there while Alan dropped us off at Abby cram school, we talked to the students (different ones) and then Alan/Lovely went back to pick up Isaiah/Vikki to drop Vikki off. Abby, KR and I walked to a red bean, soy bean place and had some, and then they picked us off. We came back to Lovely's and took a shower, as Robert's place did not have hot water on the upper level bedroom. Sleep at Robert's. SO tired ............

Sunday We arrived
After unpacking at Lovely's house and seeing mom walking around in her room, Lovely didn't let her out and Lovely brought us to the local mountain and we climbed. I am so out of shape and was sweating up a storm. We took the loop at KR's suggestion. We had breakfast a a local joint at the base of the mountain and KR had spicy noodles and I had egg pancake. Then we walked across the street and I had sticky rice with red bean.
Lovely picked us up and dropped us off at Abby's cram school. We walked through the market across the street first. Abby had 3 students, the 4th didn't show up. Afterward we rented the public bike and came home. We played cards with mom and then all of us went out to eat at the famous noodle place. Then it was a massage with the blind masseuse and church. We had dinner at church, came back to sleep at Robert and Ariel's but we could not sleep due to time change. It rained hard most night and KR said there was a cat meowing outside but I didn't hear a thing.
Humid and not too cold.
