We arrived about 6 15 and went out to get ground transportation to the Big Apple.
I had downloaded several apps, and I tried Via, and got a driver to come. His name was Kapuna, or something like that. So this black Camry came up and KR says his name, and the guy either didn't hear or could not understand him, so KR put the luggage in and off we go. About a mile down the street, the guy asked where we were going, and I told him. Well, it ended up he was Uber, NOT the guy we were suppose to get. So we asked he either return us to the airport or drive us into Manhattan. He drove us in and I paid him 40 in cash. I think he made some money, as he did not have to pay the Main Uber company.
We stumble into Hotel Newton, and it was only 7 15. The front desk guy, Jan, said that the room would be ready by 9, even though check in is not suppose to be til 3. We went next door to the Manhattan Diner and had some breakfast. KR ate corn beef and hash and I had a piece of his toast. We came back to the hotel, and by 8 30 our room was ready. We went up to room 901 and slept til about 1 pm.
Then we decided to tour the town by bicycle. We bought a three day pass, each person 24 dollars plus tax. Off we went to Central Park touring all over. We rode half an hour and docked and got another bike, so on.
We stopped at this corner market, just near Trader Joe's and bought some salad and then at Trader oe for spinach lasagna, kale salad, juice and salad dressing. We had dinner in the hotel. Then we rode down to Time Square, after we watched Lethal Weapon 2.
There was a high wire walking over Time Square but we didn't stay as nobody knew when it was suppose to start so we rode home, and watched it on the television. Nik and Lijana Wallenda who are brothers and sisters high wire act.
We went to bed, but I could not sleep as it was only 7 pm LA time, although 10 pm NYC time.
Mike Ackerman had a good day with chemo. Joann Francis was in a lot of pain with her shoulder repair, My treatment starts tomorrow.
